How nonresidents hunt upland birds in Connecticut
Nonresidents buy the nonresident firearms license (or the 3-day out-of-state bird license) plus the game bird conservation stamp over the counter. Pheasants are stocked on state areas; grouse and wild quail are scarce, with tight season limits. Sunday hunting is private land only.
Pheasant, chukar and Hungarian partridge Oct. 17, 2026 - Feb. 28, 2027; ruffed grouse Oct. 17 - Nov. 30; quail Oct. 17-31.
